Maastricht MECC Interclassics 2026
Jaap Horst
The first Classic Car show of the year is, each year, the one at the MECC exhibition centre in Maastricht, the Netherlands. For the Dutch, this classic car show is known as MECC, and not by it's official name Interclassics. Though it is not as good (of course) as Retromobile three weeks later, there always is a lot to be seen, and always a few Bugattis are shown.
For the over 30 years of the MECC's existence, there always has been a large booth with Bugatti's, organized by Jean Prick, son of the even more famous Guillaume Prick, co-founder of the Dutch Bugatti Club. Jean passed away in 2018, since then the display has been continued by his daughter Chantal Prick, family and friends. Always a tranquil spot to talk to Bugatti friends. Thank you Chantal!
There was one more interesting Bugatti on the show, a very early Type 57 Stelvio which had not been around for a long time. This same car was shown on Retromobile 3 weeks later.

Bugatti automobiles
As stated above, Chantal Prick had again organized the Bugatti stand, with three Bugatti's, many photographs, posters and other items, see the photographs below.
Some of the photographs and posters, plus a Brescia.

Bugatti T35B - replica in this case.

Very nice Bugatti Type 44 Roadster.
At "Fineautomobiles" one of the earliest known Type 57 chassis, #57110 from 1934. It remained at the factory for quite a while before removing an engine and the Stelvio body.

And of course, at each classic car show one will also see one of the modern Bugatti's nowadays, like this 2018 Chiron.
Other Automobiles

One of my all-time favourite cars, the Aston Martin Lagonda, and a very strange built around a Kawasaki motorcycle. It even retains the original hand-throttle, but adds a steering wheel, this Tri-Magnum 85.

At the entrance: a row of Ferrari Dino's, in alternating colours.
